In recent years, Chile has increasingly produced incredible wines of exceptional value. With a setting influenced by the Andes Mountains, the Pacific Ocean, the Atacama Desert and even Antarctica, Chile is a diverse land with rocky foothills, lush valley floors and cool coastal zones. Chile gained international renown for its New World take on classic Bordeaux varieties. Interestingly, it's an obscure red Bordeaux variety—Carménère—that has become Chile's signature grape.
